Halfway

I can't believe that I'm already halfway to seeing our little baby girl! It is going by so much faster than I expected... So far I've been really lucky throughout this pregnancy- only had the littlest bit of nausea and mostly just feel tired. In the past week I have begun to feel her moving around down there- it is the most awesome and weird feeling all at the same time!

So in honor of being halfway there (and the fact that I got a coupon in the mail to save 20%) I'm going to hopefuly go and buy her bedding set today!

One Year Ago Today...

We began day #1 of our lifelong adventure together with a splash!

Whitewater Rafting with your whole family is a normal day-after-your-wedding activity right?

Steve & Carrie's Picture Video

Here is the video that Amanda Created for the wedding- I finally got around to converting it and uploading it! The very last picture is actually a photograph of a portrait that Steve's mom painted for us, she was so surprised and touched to see it in the video when we played it at the reception... Enjoy

When Life (or your Aunt) Gives You Lemons...

You eat them of course! And entertain your mommy, daddy, and aunt with your occasional kinda-close-one-eye-because-oh-my-gosh-this-is-sour faces!

Little Miss Ashlynn was needing entertainment while Kristen, Keathen, and I had lunch at PF Changs on Saturday so I decided that she could play with the lemon wedges that came with my iced tea. I squeezed a little bit of the juice on my finger and let her taste it and then I brought the lemon wedge close to her mouth and she opened right up. Before long she was holding and chewing on the lemons by herself and we got to finish our lunch while getting some good laughs at her faces. She really seemed to like the lemons- she only did the sour face a couple of times!

2008 in Pictures

I figured that it would be a fun idea to wrap up this past year with some pictures of the highlights!
In April, Steve and I went to our favorite place for a long weekend... the Smokies! We had a nice weekend away and were able to make some additional arrangements for our wedding.

We stopped at Maker's Mark Whisky distillery on the way home and got to dip our own bottles of whisky.
Shortly before baby Ashlynn made her grand entrance into this world we had Kristen's baby shower...

And on May 25, 2008 Ashlynn Rae arrived! We have had such fun this year watching her grow and learn new things so quickly!

Now that the baby was here, the attention turned to our wedding that was fast approaching! In June and July we had three showers thanks to our generous family, friends, and co-workers!

And finally on August 11th, I became Mrs. Carrie Bruns! Every day that goes by, I am more and more in love with Steve and see how perfect we are for eachother!

In October, we decided to take a long weekend and head up to the Mackinaw Island area and check out some of the fall colors. Lucky us, we picked the perfect weekend and got to see the colors at their peak!

Freezin our butts off on the ferry over to Mackinaw Island!

And as if we hadn't had enough fun this year, Steve took me to Fair Oaks Farms in Indiana on my birthday. It was really neat to tour a dairy farm and get to see two calves born on my birthday!

The "Dairy-Go-Round" where the cows come to get milked.

Brand new baby calf- so cute!

Hope you enjoyed my quick little look back at this past year. I'm looking forward to 2009 and hope that it's even better than 2008!

Make sure to read below to see pictures of Ashlynn's 1st Christmas!

Ashlynn's 1st Christmas

We finally got to be able to celebrate Christmas with my family this past Tuesday. Here's a few pictures of the person who walked away with the biggest pile :) We definitely DO NOT spoil her!

Lots of presents...

What do you want Aunt Carrie???

Very busy with the FUN tissue paper...

Peek a boo!

Such a happy girl! You would be too if you got the haul that she did!
